Google buys Korean blogging company

Tatter, a Korean blogging software developer, announced yesterday that it has been bought by Google Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

With this acquisition Google wants to increase its market share in Korea, the ninth country in term of number of Internet users, as its current coverage is limited. Tatter is producing Textcube, a blogging platform popular among Korean users.

As part of Google, the company will try to introduce Textcube to bloggers outside Korea, Kim added.

Google already owns a blogging software called Blogger, which it acquired in 2003.
