Intel Core i7 in stores by the end of November
Core i7 is the brand name for the next generation of Intel’s CPUs that were known during the development by the code-named Nehalem.
According to test results published by Web sites like ExtremeTech, LegitReviews and AnandTech, those new– were found to handle some computing chores 30% to 40% faster than the previous, especially for tasks like video encoding and 3D images rendering.
Naturally every good news come with a price and in the case of Intel Core i7 it is the requirement of a new chipset, the Intel X58, that and of course is available only on the most recent and expensive motherboards.
On the price front, Intel confirmed that the 2.66-GHz Core i7-920 will cost $284, the 2.93-GHz Core i7-940 is priced at $562, and the 3.20-GHz Core i7 Extreme 965 is priced at $999.
I will going to prepare a specification sheet for those of you that are interested on the next couple of weeks.
