    Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 released

    I wrote only yesterday that the first Release Candidate of Firefox 3 was planned to be released soon, and today is already available.

    Firefox's logoTo those hungry to put their hands on it, the download page is locate here.

    Firefox 3 will bring many new features compared to the second version, like:

    • A revised Download Manager that will make easier to find downloaded files and that it better support the resume of downloads;
    • The possibility to save the current tabs while closing the browser, so you can access them back next time;
    • Better graphic integration with the current operative system graphic (on all platforms);
    • The address bar will propose you potential results based on what you are typing not only based on the urls you have previously opened, but also on the titles of the previous pages. Results are returned according to their frecency (a combination of frequency and recency of visits to that page) ensuring that you’re seeing the most relevant matches. An adaptive learning algorithm further tunes the results to your patterns;
    • Better memory usage (and many will cheer here :D ): this will be the reault of a better “cycle collector” and of hundreds of leaks that have been fixed.

    You can check here the full list of new features.
