    SUN-MySQL may privilege Enterprise over Community

    During the last MySQL Conference & Expo Sun Microsystems announced that it is planning to start offering new features for the popular database server first on the Enterprise, and paying, version and only after on the Community, and free, version. This is definitively a U-turn compared to the developing strategy adopted so far by MySQL AB.

    Use Windows software on Linux

    One of the biggest limitation that most user have when they would like to migrate from Microsoft Windows to Linux is that some application they are too familiar with (and maybe have spent some money on to get the license) is available only for Windows. Fortunately there is Wine (http://www.winehq.org/) an Open Source (and free) implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix.
